Almost a thousand new workers displaced by the #COVID19 public health emergency have now been hired by Citywide to fast-track a coronavirus cleansing blitz as part of the Victorian Government's #WorkingForVictoria initiative.

After a roll-out in three metro Melbourne municipalities for which we recruited an initial 210 new staff members, we've significantly scaled up delivery of operations to a further 15 Councils across the entire southeast region.

The Working for Victoria scheme has been established to create meaningful work opportunities for tens of thousands of Victorians displaced from their regular jobs in other industries by the COVID-19 public health emergency.

Funded by the state government, the new workforce has been quickly tasked on cleansing and disinfecting programs for 18 municipalities across southeast metropolitan Melbourne.
