Following Citywide’s recent Protect a Mate - Vaccinate campaign to encourage all Citywide Group personnel to be vaccinated, Citywide has commenced consultation with its 1,300 staff on a Vaccination Policy that has an objective of achieving a fully vaccinated workforce.
“As each State Government works towards delivery of the National Cabinet’s National Plan to move to post vaccination settings for reopening, Citywide’s Policy will require that, by 26th November, all Citywide employees, contractors and visitors will need to be fully vaccinated to access a Citywide work site, depot, office, or use a Citywide asset,” CEO Chris Campbell said.
“Citywide’s approach is based on protecting the health and safety of our employees and contractors, and the community where our teams work every day.
“Transitioning to a fully vaccinated workforce will enable us to continue to safely and reliably deliver the essential services that many communities rely on, including waste and recycling, environmental services, civil infrastructure maintenance, traffic control, and delivery of maintenance and projects in the utilities and energy sectors.
“We have been fortunate to maintain provision of our services throughout the various COVID-19 restrictions, consistent with the essential nature of the services Citywide delivers. With the supply of COVID-19 vaccines now readily available for all, we are able to transition to a fully vaccinated workforce.
“Notwithstanding this, we understand that some of our employees may have questions or concerns, which our consultation will address.”
A recent Citywide employee survey showed strong endorsement for vaccination, with 80 per cent of staff surveyed already either fully or partially vaccinated.
Citywide’s policy will provide exemptions on valid medical grounds.
