A NEW sponsorship agreement with the national peak body for arborists and tree service companies will underpin a renewed industry engagement effort across Citywide’s key industry groups.
This year, the company is sponsoring Arboriculture Australia, a partnership that will help drive the development of initiatives including minimum industry standards, industry licencing and efforts to develop a new approach to arborist recruitment across the industry.
“We recently met with members of Arboriculture Australia’s leadership team, who outlined some of the challenges and opportunities across the industry,” Matt Williams, Melbourne Contracts Manager, said.
“Clearly, the national shortage of arborists and the inherent recruitment challenges is something of great concern to the peak body and other members. We will do whatever we can do to help through our new industry partnership.”
Arboriculture Australia represents tree workers, arborists, professional tree managers, urban forestry workers and utility vegetation managers across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.
It has recently initiated development of a new industry licence for practicing arborists and utility tree workers, in response to demands from local councils, state and federal government stakeholders and the private sector for better regulatory standards.
